Geological Summary |
Greenish tuffs, orange-weathering dolostone, siltstone. A carbonate unit comprised of limestone dolostone, bands of quartzite, siltstone, shale and schists, brown phyllitic shales, and quartzite with grits and conglomerate of the Irene Volcanic Formation Windermere Group (Proterozoic) are intruded by granitic rocks similar to the Nelson batholith. Copper, lead and zinc sulphides containing silver and gold values occur in the carbonate rocks.
