A VOLCANICLASTIC SEQUENCE OF INTERBEDDED TUFFS AND ARGILLITES (TRIASSIC/JURASSIC) TRENDS NORTHWESTER- LY. TO THE SOUTHEAST THESE ROCKS ARE CONVERTED TO PHYLLITES. A DIORITIC STOCK AND ANDESITIC DYKES AND SILLS INTRUDE THE LOWER PART OF THE VOLCANI- CLASTIC SEQUENCE. A HORNFELS ZONE PERIPHERAL TO THE STOCK IS FRACTURED, SILICIFIED AND MINERALIZED WITH AURIFEROUS PYRRHOTITE AND MINOR CHALCOPYRITE.
