BLACK ARGILLITE, GREENSTONE AND CHERT OF THE SYLVESTER GROUP HOST THE GOLD AND SILVER-BEARING VOLLAUG VEIN. THIS LARGE QUARTZ VEIN OCCURS ALONG THE CONTACT BETWEEN ARGILLITE AND THE UNDERLYING GREENSTONE AND CHERT. THE VEIN IS FAULTED AND PINCHES OUT WHERE IT HAS BEEN EXPLORED TO DEPTH.
