INTERMEDIATE TO MAFIC FLOWS AND ASSOCIATED ARGIL- LITE OF THE UPPER TRIASSIC TAKLA GROUP UNDERLY THE CLAIM AREA. MOST OF THE VOLCANICS ARE CAPPED BY A FLAT-LYING, NORTHERLY PLUNGING ARGILLITE UNIT WHICH IS EXTENSIVELY CUT BY NORTH-SOUTH TRENDING, HIGH ANGLE REVERSE FAULTS. NO BASE METAL OR PRECIOUS METAL SULPHIDES WERE NOTED IN THE MAP AREA, BUT ROCK GEOCHEMISTRY POINTS TO MINOR SPHALERITE IN FAULT ZONES NEAR THE SUMMIT OF MT. TSACHA.
