THE PROPERTY IS UNDERLAIN BY HELIKIAN AGE SAND- STONE, SILTSTONE AND ARGILLITES ASSIGNED TO THE MIDDLE ALDRIDGE FORMATION. THESE ARE METAMORPHOSED TO UPPER GREENSCHIST FACIES (CHARACTERIZED BY A QUARTZ-MUSCOVITE-BIOTITE-GARNET ASSEMBLAGE) AND INTRUDED BY DIORITIC ROCKS ASSIGNED TO THE MOYIE INTRUSIONS. TOURMALINITE OCCURS OVER AN 80 METRE STRATIGRAPHIC INTERVAL WITHIN THE ALDRIDGE FOR- MATION.
