MERCURY EPITHERMAL STYLE ALTERATION AND MINERALIZATION OCCURS WITHIN TRIASSIC TO JURASSIC TAKLA GROUP FELSIC AND INTERMEDIATE TO MAFIC VOLCANICS ADJACENT TO AN ALKALIC INTRUSIVE. EPITHERMAL MINERALIZATION IS EVIDENT BY A STOCKWORK DEVELOPMENT OF MICROQUARTZ AND PYRITE VEINLETS AND THE WIDESPREAD OCCURRENCE OF DISSEMINATED CINNABAR. ASSAYS OF UP TO 1210 PPM (1210 GRAMS) MERCURY WERE OBTAINED FROM AN ALTERED LATITE PORPHYRY.
