A SERIES OF 5 DIORITE-QUARTZ DIORITE PLUTONS OF TERTIARY AGE INTRUDE JURASSIC-CRETACEOUS VOLCANIC AND SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. THE SIZE OF THE PLUTONS VARIES FROM 100 METRES TO OVER 1 KILOMETRE IN DIA- METRE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS EPITHERMAL, GOLD-SILVER BEARING, QUARTZ-SULPHIDE VEINS WITHIN AND ADJACENT TO THE STOCKS. ARSENOPYRITE IS A COMMON VEIN-FILL SULPHIDE AND GOLD CONTENT IS ERRATIC. VEINS VARY IN WIDTH FROM 0.5 CENTIMETRES TO 0.5 METRES.
