THE CLAIMS ARE UNDERLAIN BY A SEQUENCE OF UPPER TRIASSIC KARMUTSEN FORMATION MAFIC VOLCANICS WHICH ARE UNCONFORMABLY OVERLAIN BY UPPER CRETACEOUS SANDSTONES AND SILTSTONES OF THE NANAIMO GROUP. THE SUCCESSION IS INTRUDED BY TERTIARY DACITE PORPHYRIES. GENTLY NORTHEASTERLY DIPPING GOLD- BEARING VEINS CONTAINING SPHALERITE, PYRITE, ARSENOPYRITE, GALENA AND CHALCOPYRITE OCCUR IN KARMUTSEN FORMATION ROCKS. STEEP, EASTERLY TREND- ING GOLD-BEARING VEINS OF SIMILAR MINERALOGY OCCUR IN NANAIMO GROUP ROCKS. AN INDUCED POLARIZATION CONDUCTOR ASSOCIATED WITH THE LAKE ZONE IS OPEN TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH.
