THE CLAIMS ARE UNDERLAIN BY UPPER PALEOZOIC METAVOLCANICS, CHERTS AND ALTERED ULTRAMAFICS (LISTWANITE) OF THE SYLVESTER GROUP. AURIFEROUS QUARTZ VEINS COMMONLY OCCUR BENEATH THE LISTWANITE WITHIN THE METAVOLCANICS. THE LISTWANITE-VOLCANIC CONTACT IS A FAULT-BOUNDED CONTACT AND THE VEINS HAVE BEEN EMPLACED WITHIN SHEAR ZONES. THE DRILL- ING PROGRAM WAS TO DETERMINE THE LATERAL AND DOWN DIP CONTINUITY OF THE EILEEN VEIN.
