THE NEEPAWA PROPERTY IS ESSENTIALLY UNDERLAIN BY PORPHYRITIC GRANITE OF THE NELSON INTRUSIVES THOUGHT TO BE CRETACEOUS IN AGE. THE DISTINCTIVE FEATURE OF THIS INTRUSIVE IS THE INCLUSION OF LARGE PINK FELDSPAR PHENOCRYSTS IN A COARSE- GRAINED GRANITIC MATRIX. NORTHEAST TRENDING SHEAR ZONES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH HYDROTHERMAL ALTERATION AND GALENA, SPHALERITE, TETRAHEDRITE AND ARGENTITE MINERALIZATION.
