Geological Summary
The claims are underlain by a belt of rocks described by Grove (1971) as the Stewart Complex. The complex consists of an undivided group of southeasterly dipping sedimentary and volcanic rocks of Upper Triassic and Lower Triassic age which are intruded by Middle Mesozoic marginal phases of the Coast Range Intrusions. Mineralization in the area consists of sphalerite, galena, pyrite and chalcopyrite as massive sulphide and quartz-sulphide veins infilling fractures and shear zones in the volcanic/sedimentary succession.
