Geological Summary
Cherts, tuffs and greenstones of the Shoemaker and Old Tom formations of Triassic or earlier age, and Jurassic limestones outcrop on the property. These rocks are intruded by Cretaceous granites and granodiorites of the Nelson Plutonic Complex. Paleocene sediments and Eocene volcanics cap the older units. The sedimentary rocks strike northeast-southwest and dip moderately to the southeast.
