Geological Summary
Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation basalts and Lower-Middle Jurassic granodiorites of the Island Intrusions are faulted in east, north and northwest directions. Quartz veins of probable Tertiary age are emplaced along the faults. Vein mineralization includes galena, pyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite with gold and silver. Sulphides may be up to 60 per cent of the vein material.
