Geological Summary
Greywacke belonging to the Jakcass Mountain Group is the predominant lithology. The Greywackes have been intruded by fine- grained dykes often porphyritic (plagiclase phenocrysts). Carbonate alteration of the sediments is a widespread phenomenon as is pyrite mineralization. The area also contains significant geochemical anomalies of mercury, arsenic, antimony and gold.
