The property is underlain by black shale, green phyllite and limestone of Cambrian age on its east half and black slate, argillite and cherty argillite, black limestone and silicified limestone of Ordovician to Mississippian age on the west. Isolated outcrops of Upper Silurian-Lower Devonian chert breccia occur on the Tinsdale 1 claim.
