Geological Summary
Cretaceous lavas and conglomerates, and Eocene volcanic rocks ranging in composition from rhyolite to basalt are overlain by Miocene basalt flows. The rhyolites and andesites are locally altered and veined with vuggy quartz. Chalcedonic silica is common but unmineralized. The geology is a continuation of that at the nearby Blackdome Mine.
