Geological Summary
Five major sedimentary facies are of Late Hadrynian quartzitic sandstone and rare limestone clasts; conformable Early Cambrian dolostone about 100 metres thick, of the Atan Formation (?); Middle Cambrian quartzitic sandstone (100 metres); Middle-Lower Cambrian argillite shale (2000 metres); the argillite-shale unit locally contains large lenses of limy sandstone and limestone.
