Riley Creek is underlain by (Quaternary) overburden with (Cretaceous) quartz diorite outcropping in Lower Riley Creek Valley. The best zone is strongly bleached and contains highly altered pyroclastic and brecciated rocks. Mineralization consists of pyrite and arsenopyrite.
