Geological Summary |
UPPER TRIASSIC NICOLA GROUP VOLCANICLASTIC SEDIMENTS ARE INTENSELY CARBONATE-ALTERED OVER AREAS UP TO 4500 SQUARE METRES ON THE PROPERTY. IT APPEARS THAT THE ALTERATION ZONES ARE RELATED TO ELONGATE QUARTZ PORPHYRY INTRUSIONS OF POSSIBLE TERTIARY AGE. THE INTRUSIVE ROCKS ARE LOCALLY KAOLINIZED, AND CONTAIN UP TO 3 PER CENT PYRITE AND ANOMALOUS ARSENIC VALUES. NO GOLD HAS BEEN FOUND ON THE PROPERTY TO DATE, BUT GOLD IS KNOWN TO ACCOMPANY SIMILAR ARSENIC-BEARING CARBONATE- ALTERED ROCKS 5 KILOMETRES TO THE NORTH OF THE PROPERTY.
