THE CLAIMS ARE UNDERLAIN BY UPPER PALEOZOIC METAVOLCANICS, CHERTS AND ALTERED ULTRAMAFICS (LISTWANITES) OF THE SYLVESTER GROUP. AURIFEROUS QUARTZ VEINS OCCUR COMMONLY BENEATH THE LISTWANITE WITHIN THE METAVOLCANICS. THE LISTWANITE VOLCANIC CONTACT IS A FAULT-BOUNDED CONTACT AND THE QUARTZ VEINS HAVE BEEN EMPLACED WITHIN SHEAR ZONES. THE DRILLING RESULTS ON THE EILEEN VEIN ARE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION FOR TONNAGE AND GRADE ESTI- MATES.
