Geological Summary
Interbedded quartzites, sericite schists, limestones and chlorite schists strike northwest and dip 70 to 80 degrees northeast. Several systems of quartz veins cut these rocks; some veins are gold bearing. Roughly parallel trending veins: Shasta, Hudson and 605 occupy steeply dipping faults. Gold mineralization is associated with sulphides, mostly pyrite, and is concentrated along steeply plunging ore shoots, preliminary indications suggest that massive pyritic "replacement" deposits may occur along a limestone horizon.
