Geological Summary
NORMALLY, THE VAULLAUG VEIN LIES ABOVE THE LISTWANITE AT THE ARGILLITE LISTWANITE-VOLCANIC CONTACT. IN THE VICINITY OF TABLE MOUNTAIN, SEDIMENTARY ROCKS REST STRATIGRAPHICALLY ABOVE A THICK VOLCANIC PILE WITH INTERBEDDED CHERT. THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE BASAL MEMBER, BLACK ARGILLITE AND THE VOLCANICS IS APPARENTLY A THRUST FAULT. THE ROCKS ARE OF LOWER DEVONIAN TO MISSISSIPPIAN AGE. GOLD AND SILVER MINERALIZATION IS WITHIN QUARTZ VEINS.
